I didn't want to say anything before I knew for sure...but the premeds definately took care of the pain issue! Yeah! The only real side effect is a little trouble sleeping...or falling asleep. Even with my Advil PM I am tossing and turning....but I will take that over pain any day!!
Also, it is cooling down a bit...just a bit, but enough to feel better and get in the yard a little!
Life is Good!!

Oh Honey...I am SO glad to hear the Voltarin helped you. I have it for the mornings that I play tennis, otherwise I wouldn't be able to walk off the courts at the end. Its a really GOOD prescription strength anti-inflammatory. Be sure to take it with food!!! You don't want stomach issues on top of everything else.
My sister noticed that it made her hands swell up the next morning but I think that's just part of the fluid retention that cushions the joints.
Hang in there, Sweetie!! You're at the top of my prayer list.
Hugs,
Rett

That is a good report. It must be working if you feel like being out in the yard again!
Hi Ceekay,
Glad to hear that you are tolerating the chemo well and that the meds are helping. I was thinking of you when I wrote my current post..."Talkin' Teal"...about ovarian cancer month. Stay strong...your positive attitude is an inspiration to us all.
Teal hugs,

Hi Ceekay! I was so happy to hear that the new medication is helping with the pain. I have chronic pain issues too. I know what you mean when you say it is like a weight lifted. The whole world can change over night with just a little bit of relief.
I started going to a pain clinic a couple of years ago and had to try several different things until we got the right combination but what a difference. I wrote myself a little note and put it in my Bible to remind myself when the pain gets bad, saying: "Remember the pain is a wave in a storm, ride it out and tomorrow there will be a calm sea". I don't know why that helps me so much, but just visualizing that calm sea, kind of centers me and gives me hope. For me it's when I start to think that it is never going to end that it gets overwhelming.
I hope you have a lovely and restful sunday evening ahead. It is nice and cool now here in Georgia, with a little crisp touch of fall in the air. I actually had to put a sweater on last night! Delisa :)
I am glad to hear that you are without pain. I will keep you in my prayers.
Hugs,
Susan and Bentley
I've been reading along and thinking of you and praying. I understand the sleep issue. I've been having some major problems the past few months and it's exhausting. Sleep is important for good helth. I hope it is better for you soon.
Glad to hear the meds helped!
Today my dh and I went to Mayo Clinic for his weekly phlebotomy. I was reading a new magazine there and learned that actress Kathy Bates had ovarian cancer. It's been seven years now and she is doing well. Did you know she had it? I've been watching her on Harry's Law, I like that show.

I've just joined your blog and will keep you in my prayers. If you read my September 8th post on "Ladybug Creek" you'll see that I have been close to the ovarian cancer "experience". Take a minute to read about Heather. She will have her 5 year check up this week! I thank God and wonderful medical support she received from MD Anderson in Houston. Heather now works for the American Cancer Society.
Love and support!
