New Day, New Post, New Plan

Went to the doctor today for my Avastin.  My doctor came out to talk to me and it was decided to stop the Avastin.  My CA125, the blasted thing, is slowly creeping up again and with my joint pain, tooth issue and eye issue, he feels it is time.

I will be detoxing for 2 more weeks and then starting on another trial.  There is high hopes for this new drug.  My doctor only got 5 spots...for OC and lung cancer.  So he wants me to get one.

My hair will thin a bit at the beginning...but hopefully, no total loss.  Never can be completely sure though.

I don't know if this is plan K or L....but I am hopeful.

I also had a thought.  I want to add a page to this blog of other Ovarian Cancer bloggers....fighters and survivors.  So if you are one or you know of someone, please have them comment to me.  Thanks.  I think us OCers.....need each others support.  Maybe we eventually could get the white house to go Teal???

I want to see you whip this thing, Ceekay, and whip it into the pavement. I hate cancer with the heat of a blast furnace.

I was diagnosed in 2008, IIC ovarian cancer, and I have been fortunate to not have any recurrences. I have a weekly blog at www.outshineovariancancer.blogspot.com. I also wrote a book "Outshine: An Ovarian Cancer Memoir" in the hopes that it will help to increase awareness of this awful disease. Proceeds from the book go to ovarian cancer research.
My prayers and thoughts are with you, Ceekay.

A always, you have such a great mindset and positive attitude, Ceekay. As someone in my life is now battling cancer, I have all the respect in the world for those of you who have such strength. My only experience has been losing people to this horrible disease, now I am holding someone's hand and we are determined to win.

Sending hugs...

XO,
Jane

One of my best friends is fighting colon cancer and my heart breaks for her. She has a great attitude about it all, loves God with all her being but the chemo and cancer combined has made her sooo weak. She is such a fighter, just like you.
Prayers and love, bj

Ovarian cancer is a cancerous growth arising from the ovary. Symptoms are frequently very subtle early on and may include bloating, pelvic pain, difficulty eating and frequent urination, and are easily confused with other illnesses. Thanks.
