Seriously...why does this happen all the time?

I really thought all would go smoothly for this chemo, but since this is my place to tell this journey, here we go again.
I went to have my pre-chemo labs done at the SAME place I have gone for 3 years. I write and tell them I have 2 standing orders. OK
I get called into the room and the girl pulls out the tubes. I said, only 4 tubes...there should be 2 orders (AGAIN). "Yes, there is 2 orders...4 tubes." OK

I go home. Chemo is tomorrow afternoon. Life is good. I will only have a poke to the port and one to my sad vein in the arm. I can do this.

Phone rings. The lab. "Uh, there has been a mistake. We did have 2 orders but 1 for this doctor and 1 for this one, (who I am not going to right now)". Seriously. I tell them, " Well, this is a problem. I need those tests before I can have chemo, and I am on a clinical trial and you can't miss a day". "Well come back tomorrow morning (no problem, surely I had NO OTHER PLANS) and we will stat the order". OKKKKKKKKKKKKK

I call my doctor. They check the computer. Yep, wrong order. Go first thing....but here is the crack up I think. They want to know who is going to pay for this. What? what about my arm? That is the issue....I am the one getting poked AGAIN.

Oh, unbelievable. Lord, keep me gracious. Cuz, this vein thing and the mistakes....it's getting old!

Oh CeeKay...
Can't you just smack them? Just slip accidentally tomorrow and just smack them. Maybe your leg will have a muscle spasm and just kick out. Darn, did I do that?

I went to the lab in Oct. only to go in for my check up last week, and the Dr. said my lab work was lost, and I would have to have it drawn over again. I through a hissy, and the Lab had to eat the cost, but my veins collapse alot, so I am the one who truly paid the piper. It is the pits.

I will be praying for you sweetie. Sure they may be eating the cost, but I am praying for you for the pain, that you have to go through. It is not right. I will send you many prayers and also a couple of angels to sweet talk that vein in your arm. It will be okay, you will see.

I love you sweetie. Country hugs...Sherry

Oh brother. I've told you before, if they would just let us rule the world we could straighten out all these problems! I understand your frustration totally - I'm in your boat. I'm the girl who just spent 11 hours in the chemo clinic last week because of a mistake. I just don't get it.

I'll talk to you tomorrow, C. I'll be praying as always.
xo...Kathy

I'm with Sherry! Just slap 'em.
As for who pays for it . . . uhhhhh . . . you don't want to know what I would tell them. And the Lord would NOT think it gracious at all - not one bit.
I'm sorry you have to go through this.
Big hugs - with a little sway . . .
Love you! Karen

Ceekay~ A new year brings renewed hope. You've come so far on your "Teal" journey. Oh the frustration of the medical system.
I recently was denied a prescription because according to their records I didn't exist...because they had my husbands birthday as my own. I tried to explain the (simple) confusion, just to be told we needed to go to the dept that made the mistake to begin with. Sooo, after five attempts at getting it corrected it was finally changed. We finally stand corrected and all systems are go....for now. Oh, did I mention my husband works for the regional office of our carrier and he couldn't change my birth date!

Sweet wishes,
Sara
